Editorial Standards & Transparency

Editorial approach Editorial approach
Security Safety Reviewer aims to make assessments useful, evidence-led and understandable. Reviews distinguish observable information, statements made by businesses, third-party feedback and editorial judgement. Readers should consult the evidence and limitations set out in each review.
How reviews are assessed How reviews are assessed
Assessments consider relevant service information, technical detail, customer accessibility, available feedback and documented experience. The weight given to any source depends on its relevance, reliability and specificity. Our review methodology explains the process in more detail.
Managing potential conflicts
SSR is operated by Bert Scanlon, who is also founder and managing director of UK Safety Camera Network Ltd. The shared role is disclosed on the USCN review and in our Conflict of Interest Management policy.
Editorial assessments must follow the published criteria, distinguish sources from judgments, and show relevant relationships towards the bottom of the company review. SSR awards are editorial recognition, not independent third-party certification.
Award decisions #
Bronze, Silver and Gold recognition is considered against the published award criteria. Award identifiers can be checked through the verification process. An award is an editorial recognition, not a regulatory accreditation or technical certification.
Accuracy and attribution #
Claims about qualifications, accreditations, manufacturer relationships, public-safety work and customer ratings should be attributed to their sources where relevant. Unverified statements should not be described as independently established facts. External ratings may change over time.
Corrections and feedback #
Readers and businesses may submit relevant evidence and request correction of a material factual error. Challenges are assessed on their merits, with significant corrections made where warranted. See Corrections, Verification & Contact.
